San Casciano dei Bagni
is a picturesque medieval village on the slopes of Mount Cetona towards
Val di Paglia, on the border between Toscana, Umbria and Lazio. The
landscape is "lunar" for the presence of the
"calanchi" (ravines). In 1607 the Grand Duke of Tuscany
Ferdinand I ordered to build the elegant portico which still nowadays
adorns the Thermal Spa (43 springs of water at 42°). You can visit the
Gothic Collegiata of San Leonardo and the Church of S.S. Concezione with
frescoes by "Pomarancio" (Niccolò Circigni).
